Managing Safely is aimed at managers required to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both health and safety legislation and their organisation’s policy. The course concentrates on training the manager to apply sound principles to safety and health issues as part of a total strategy.

Managing Safely modules cover:

• Understanding and analysing why incidents involving injury or damage occur
• Applying management principles to safety and health
• The component parts of a recognised safety management system
• Legal framework for safety and health at work
• The hierarchies of workplace precautions
• Nature of common hazards: chemical; machinery; manual and mechanical handling; electrical; noise; fire; slipping, tripping and falling.

Successful participants who pass the two examinations receive a certificate accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
